Mekong Advisory
Independent economic counsel for the Mekong economies.
The Organization
Mekong Advisory is an independent economic consultancy focused on the Greater Mekong Subregion — Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.
We exist because the mainland deserves better than a regional average. Generalist firms cover Southeast Asia the way a world map covers a city: technically accurate, useless for getting anywhere. Decisions about a Vietnamese supply chain, a Thai policy response, or cross-border trade through the GMS corridors need analysis built from the ground up, by people who follow these economies every week.
That's the work. We produce evidence-based counsel for policymakers, institutions, and investors who need to understand regional conditions, design or assess policy, and read market shifts before they reach the wire. Our analysis is rigorous, our sources are transparent, and our conclusions are ours alone — we take no positions and broker no transactions.
We combine traditional econometric methods with AI-assisted research systems. The econometrics keeps us honest; the AI lets a small team work at the pace of a large one. Used together, they let us turn questions into defensible answers in days, not quarters — and show our work at every step.
The firm operates from Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City, inside the region it covers.
